Happy Labor Day and welcome to my kitchen !!
What a perfect occasion to kick back, bond, and eat succulent ribs. As you guys know, I live in Houston and this past week has been awful. Alas, we made it through hurricane Harvey. There is always something good that comes out of every bad situation. This natural disaster allowed neighbors to get to know each other, pushed many of us to be there for one another and help out. We are all recovering and on this day, my loved ones and I decided to celebrate and thank for protecting and blessing Ho(US)ton.
I hosted a dinner and invited all my loved ones and new friends I met over the past week.
Here is the menu
Entrée
- Bren’s Style succulent grilled pork ribs accompanied with homemade bren’s style salsa
- Chicken tamales made by a lovely friend
Ribs recipe

Real talk: I eyeball so season it to your liking. I added about 3 pinches !! You can always taste and add some more as it is cooking …

This mixture will be used while the rib is cooking on the grill in order to keep it juicy and savory.

Let it smoke for 3 hours on the grill with the hood down .

Now let’s get to my signature tangy salsa

Me gusta los tamales!!
